Profile

Reader, knitter of questionable productivity, seaside dweller and devoted admirer of Agatha Christie.

I live in a small cottage in Devon, where the books keep accumulating, the weather does what it likes, and the cat appears to be the only one with a sensible plan.

Fond of Miss Marple, second-hand bookshops, old mysteries, village gossip, pop music, rainy afternoons and cups of tea (or fruit infusion, if we're being particular). Recently distracted by tennis, much to my own surprise.

I'm learning that life doesn't have to turn out as expected to be worth living. I rather like a little humour with my sentimentality, and I have a weakness for the small, ordinary things that turn out not to be so ordinary after all.

Probably reading something. Almost certainly thinking about something. The knitting remains a work in progress.
